The Royal Air Force Air Cadets is a national cadet force with more than 45,000 members aged 12-19.  Sponsored by the Royal Air Force (RAF), we can give you hands-on experience of activities and courses that will challenge and develop your skills to help you succeed in whatever you want to do.

The Squadron...

...history

Established in 1951 as 2247 (County of Flint) Squadron, we originally provided training for young men aspiring to join the RAF - at a time when female cadets were not permitted.  We have always been a relatively large unit, reaching a peak of more than 120 cadets in the 1980s - a decade in which we were also named the 'Best Squadron in the Country' as winners of the Sir Alan Lees Trophy.

...today

With a cadet strength of more than sixty supported by a devoted team of ten cadet forces adult volunteers led by Commanding Officer - Warrant Officer Liam Ellis - today the Squadron continues to thrive. Regularly the largest Squadron in the North and Mid Wales area, we are particularly successful in marching drill competitions.
